Infrastructure

Whether you choose commercial or customer-owned two-way radio infrastructure, the right system design can improve speed, clarity, reliability, and security. Your infrastructure can be designed to share radio resources allowing you to address any communication need.

Repeaters

Increase the coverage and penetration of your radio communications with a repeater. Available in VHF, UHF, and 800 MHz, these devices allow you to extend the reach of your radio system with more wattage than radio-to-radio communications can supply. Control your vital communications in times of crisis rather than rely on consumer devices and systems that may get overloaded when you need them the most. Continuous-duty ratings and battery-backup options can eliminate system downtime to keep your people informed, organized, and working.

Trunking Systems

Radio trunking systems share repeater resources to keep system costs low and efficiently handle larger numbers of users than a single repeater system. By sharing resources, trunking allows you to add additional radio users and/or groups without the need to constantly add more infrastructure. Trunking systems have self-healing characteristics to keep failed pieces of equipment from crippling your day-to-day communications; the implementation of remote diagnostics and control can notify service technicians about an issue before you even realize there is a problem.

Wide-Area Systems

Digital radio technology enables wide-area systems to link users across town, across the country, or across the globe. Using your network, we can design a radio system that connects your plants, campuses, or people whenever and wherever they need critical information instantly. CEC can design a system that’s custom tailored to your specific needs, or help you take advantage of a commercially operated system to keep upfront costs low. Radios provide cost-effective, one-to-many communications that are more reliable than smartphones, but still offer the option to link to smartphones when needed.

Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)

If you need to boost RF signals within your facility, CEC can custom design a DAS solution that will enable you to get the communication coverage your business requires. In-building coverage is important to maintain your day-to-day flow of information, and CEC can help with multi-floor or large-footprint designs. Whether you’re outfitting new construction or retrofitting existing facilities, we can help.

CEC's Motorola Connect Plus System

CEC's Motorola Connect Plus system is the combination of innovative Motorola Digital two way radios and a dedicated, purpose-built voice and data network in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. This digital trunked radio system allows voice and data to be shared over a wide area within Eastern Iowa.

Coverage Map (click to view)

RF coverage maps are not a guarantee of coverage or service availability, and subject to change without notice. The maps are a general prediction of where service applies based on internal data. Within coverage areas, network changes, unexpected traffic volume, outages, technical limitations, customer equipment, obstructions, weather or other conditions may interfere with service quality, availability, and may result in areas of no service.  Please consult with a CEC specialist for your specific application.
